There is a proverb states "what you learn is hand size and thing to learn or discover yet is earth size " so everyday we come across new inventions and now we find a second which has fooled scientist for three years
This moon is actually in size of a truck and this mini moon (2020 CD3) has been gravitationally bound to earth for about three years now. ,confusing right let me explain
For that we first need to understand how moon is formed
The moon was formed 4.5 billion years ago when a planet which is at a size equal to mars collide with earth and the debris from that collision combine and form a planet and this planet orbit around earth.
On feb 19 astronomy center in Arizona(Catalina sky survey) observe a tiny object quickly crossed the sky at first they thought it would be some asteroid but on confirmation with six observatories around the globe the come to conclusion that this object revolves earth. researches says that this object is 1.9 meters and 3.5 meters across, which is around the same size as a mid-size car.
You gonna ask why they term this as mini moon rather than a debris. it is because it's orbit is not close to earth and it is a space object rather than man made one.
But the think to note about this mini moon is that this moon is unstable that means it either fall on earth or escape from earth like this inn 2006, the 2006 RH120 remained within the earth’s gravitational pull between September 2006 and June 2007 before it managed to wriggle free.
