What is the brightest thing in the universe?Is it a star or a galaxy or something else?



when you see the title you should have guess that it would be a red giant or a galaxy.But the thing is that  you are actually wrong .

The worlds brightest object is quasar. so what are they ?how to they form?how we find  them? . Lets see  one by one

Quasars are formed when two super massive black hole (they generally have billion times the mass of sun) combine together releasing a super jet of energy and matter.



Sounds fishy right ,that is the complexity of space , we heard a proverb that is 




When we compare it to our topic we see that the darkest thing (singularity of black hole) combine to form a  brightest thing in the universe.

Wait a minute we all know that even light can't escape from black hole then how come a combine form of two super massive black hole let the surrounding mass escape.

First thing is that these mass are the junks around the event horizon of each black hole or it can be be the nearby stars get sucked when two black holes combine and there will be a huge magnetic field around the black hole because each black hole rotates while combining and the final black hole will be a rotating one.This magnetic field causes the matter around the event horizon to eject like a super jet  with 1/3th of speed of light

So we completed the origin of quasar ,now we move on how scientist identified them

this all happens in 1960 when the worlds first radio waves observatory identified a peculiar reading . they observe some spectral lines having rapid luminous intensity in optical range and even more in x ray range.



On further detail analysis they found that these should have come from the source which is located billions of light years from us . They termed this radio waves they get as quasar stellar radio waves and source as quasar.

After that on years of analysis they found that this quasar was emitted from two massive black hole when our universe is 690 million years old .
They estimated the luminous intensity they emitted is to be billion times brighter than our milky way.

Fun Fact:

Scientist estimated that in future two super massive black holes(one is from our milky way galaxy which is Sagittarius and another from Andromeda galaxy) combined to created quasar , this event  will happen few billion years from now. So chill
